Dear Loved Ones, Amie is resting comfortably in hospice where she will remain. She will not be returning home as originally planned, as she has become too weak and frail to do so. I am staying with her around the clock and her mom is with her most of the day. My family, my parents and my sister, her husband and their two children, and Amie's brother will join us this week. Our pastors sit with us each day, and our church, our family and our friends around the country and the world pray for us continually. Be assured that though most of you cannot be with her, God is with Amie, hears your prayers for her, and comforts you in your grief and ours. Just as she has impacted so many of your lives, Amie has touched the lives of the hospice staff that is lovingly caring for her. Amie and I have been blessed to have some peaceful, intimate moments together, times in which we sensed the presence of God as we share as husband and wife. Though we still ask no visitors or flowers, you may send cards to our home. You may also send emails, though I will be unable to answer most of them. These are famous and true words about God our Savior and his faithful promise to one day redeem all of creation. In our immense suffering, we rest upon this truth: "For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth." Job 19.25 Finally, our friend has written a poem simply entitled, "Amie" which is a creative and true description of my devoted, beautiful, godly wife. Go to http://vertuccis.blogspot.com/ if you wish to read it. Blessings,Paul
